- You need 1 teaspoon of Chana masala (optional) -.

Chana Masala (Kerala style) instructions
- Soak the gram overnight or for about 8 to 12 hours.
- Cook the gram with all the powders,paste and salt to taste with less water. Strain excess water after cooking.
- In a wok, heat oil. Add mustard seeds. Once they pop, add cut garlic pods. Once they turn slightly brown,add the curry leaves..
- Add grated coconut and roast for about a minute..
- Add the gram into this and mix well.
- Check salt level and add if required.
- Close the wok with a lid. Simmer heat and let it cook for about a minute.
- Turn off the heat.
- Serve hot.
