  2. Prepare 1/2 cup of grated coconut.
  3. You need 1 of small onion.
  4. It's 1 of tomato.
  5. Prepare as needed of Curry Leaves.
  6. Prepare 2 cloves of garlic.
  7. Prepare Piece of ginger.
  8. You need 1/4 spoon of fennel seeds.
  9. Prepare 2 of red chilies.
  10. It's 1/2 tsp of mustard seeds.
  11. You need 1/2 tsp of jeera.
  12. It's as needed of Oil.
  13. You need to taste of Salt.

Kadala Curry (Kerala style) step by step

  1. Heat oil in a pan and add curry leaves, jeera, red chilli,asafoetida, fennel seeds, ginger and garlic.
  2. Sauté in for sometime and add chopped onions. Let it cook for sometime.
  3. Add tomato, salt, turmeric powder and let it cook till it’s mushy.
  4. Add grated coconut to it and fry it for sometime.
  5. Add this mixture to the mixer with water and grind it into a fine paste.
  6. Take another vessel and heat some oil and add mustard seeds and curry leaves to it.
  7. Add onion and sauté it for sometime.
  8. Add the grinded paste to it and let it cook for a minute.
  9. Add boiled brown Chana to it and some water and let it cook.
  10. Check for salt and your kadle curry is ready to eat with some puttu or steamed rice.
