- Prepare 250 gms of Sardines/Mathi/chala.
- Prepare 2-3 tsp of red chilli powder.
- You need 1/4 tsp of turmeric powder.
- You need 1/4 tsp of coriander powder.
- Prepare 1 tsp of rice flour.
- It's 1 tsp of vinegar/lime juice.
- It's 1 tsp of coconut oil.
- It's of salt as required.
- It's 3-4 tbsp of coconut oil for frying.

- Clean and make gashes in sardine and drain out the excess water.
- In a bowl mix together ingredients from 2 to 9,by adding required salt..
- Add this paste to the fish and rub it into it, let it sit for sometime.
- Heat a pan add oil for frying,once hot add the fish pieces and bring down the flame..
- Cover using a lid and fry in low flame for 5 minutes.
- Turn the fish to other side and repeat the 5 step..
