  1. Soak the rice for 4 to 5 hours..
  2. Drain off the water and put in a blender along with the bananas and cardamoms. Blend to a coarse paste without water..
  3. In a vessel, add Jaggery and water. Keep the flame on medium and stir till jaggery dissolves. Boil till thick consistency. Off flame and let it cool slightly..
  4. Filter the jaggery syrup and pour into rice batter. Mix well. It should be thick dosa batter consistency..
  5. To the batter, add dry ginger powder, black sesame seeds, baking soda and salt. Mix well. If the batter is watery, add rice flour (1 tbsp).
  6. Heat Appe pan. Pour 1/2 tsp ghee in each mould of Appe pan. Pour batter into each Appe mould. Keep the flame on low. Cook for a minute or 2. Roast to golden brown on both sides. Cook till the toothpick inserted comes out clean..
